Church Community Services Food Pantry

Since nearly the beginning of the churchs existence, the saxeville community church has had a desire to meet the physical needs of our community as well as the spiritual. Nine years ago the food pantry opened its doors and received its first 4 patrons. For over many years, slcc has provided a wednesday night food pantry. Church community services june 3, 2020 this week at the food pantry we have plant starts available for free for pantry clients and anyone who needs plants for their garden this year!

Our food assistance program, also known as our food pantry, provides an emergency supply of about a week's worth of food for all members of a household, as often as once per month. The rcs food pantry hosts an average of 250 pantry visits and enjoys the volunteer efforts of an average of 40 volunteers each week. Ccs to serve elkhart county as a food bank.

Food pantry and community kitchen through our partnership with ravenswood community services (rcs), we open our doors to feed our community on tuesday nights. It was the grand opening of church community services long awaited renovated food pantry and warehouse. We have been open since 2009, first under the llc cannon beach community food systems which was set up to oversee the cb food pantry and the backpack program for the cb elementary school. Church community services has been working towards making this transition for 4 years.

The community services #1 (cs#1) food pantry is a small community food outlet for people with a genuine need or those who are on a limited income. Ccs is now a partnering distributing organization, or pdo, with the food bank of northern indiana. Since that time, we have seen it grow to as many as 58 families.

Except for food sense delivery days and when the office is closed due to a holiday, vacation or inclement weather. Surviving solely on generous donations from our parishioners, the food pantry offers two bags of food thoughtfully composed to help them create meals along with eggs, margarine and bread. We have a wonderful dedicated group of volunteers which allows us to continue providing this much needed service in our community.
